Synopsis: One Republican. One Democrat. A Fair & Balanced Love Story.

Hyphenate Films infiltrated both the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York City and the surrounding protests to film a narrative Red State-Blue State love story. The result is the Award-winning feature film, "Conventioneers," opening in theatres October 20.

This film, which premiered at New York's Tribeca Film Festival, tells a Romeo- and-Juliet story of a Republican man who falls into a politically forbidden relationship with a Democrat woman who is protesting the Bush agenda. As the Convention draws near, one of her activist colleagues must reexamine his politics when he is hired as a sign language interpreter for the very man he's working to defeat: President George W. Bush.

All must confront the question: What comes first - the politics, or the person?

Blending actors with real events and activists from both sides of the aisle, "Conventioneers" features breakthrough performances by actors Matthew Mabe and Woodwyn Koons as the star-crossed lovers and Alek Friedman as the interpreter.
